Rangers Walkover Sporting Principe

Enugu Rangers have been handed an automatic walkover victory in their CAF Champions League opponents Sporting do Principe.

The match officials performed the walkover formalities and awarded three points and three goals in favour of the home side after the Sao Tome and Principe champions failed to show up for the game that was scheduled to be held on Sunday evening at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

The walkover may result in an automatic qualification to the next round for Rangers, however they will have to wait for official confirmation from CAF.

 

In order not to leave the fans present at the stadium disappointed, Rangers divided their players into two teams and conducted a friendly match which ended 1-1.

Rangers have also confirmed the return of Super Eagles winger Ejike Uzoenyi to the team. The player who is being linked with a summer move to French club Rennes has resumed training with the Flying Antelopes.
