Rangers Unveil New Players




Nigerian Champions League campaigners Rangers International FC of Enugu unveiled over a dozen newly-signed players yesterday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.



The Flying Antelopes underwent a massive recruitment in the off-season, in a bid to improve on their last season's performance in which they finished as runners-up to eventual champions Kano Pillars.

Rangers are also campaigning on the continent this season and have already progressed to the first round courtesy of their walkover against Sporting do Principe.

Most notable among the players unveiled yesterday are, Sunday Mba and Chigozie Agbim who were members of the Super Eagles team that emerged victorious at the just concluded African Cup of Nations.

Other players include: Solomon Jabason from Akwa United, Odah Onoriode from Ocean Boys, Etim Mathew from Kaduna United, Chibuzor Okonkwo from Heartland Sanusi Sani from Gombe United and Lazarus Chukwu from Warri Wolves, Pierre Coly from Sharks; Justice Chinedu from Niger Tornadoes, Adamu Mohammed from Dolphins, Ekene Iwuorie from Sunshine Stars and Michael Egbeta from Warri Wolves, Akor Itodo and Ezekiel Thompson (El Kanemi), Chisom Egbuchulem (from a grassroots team), Uche Oguchi (Heartland) and Razaq Adegbite (Enyimba) made up the list of players unveiled yesterday.

Other new signings like Emmanuel Daniel, Seun Taro and Nzube Anazemba could not be part of the event as they are currently with the national Under-20 team in Tunisia.
